Some Details About Instructor Development
Express is the first school with IDFPR approval to offer the required workshops for initial instructor applicants. It is a true workshop experience that has a proven value when you make application to IDFPR for your license, and is one that exceeds the requirements of the statute and rules--not in time invested by you, but in the worth of the experience you gain.
This required workshop for instructor applicants is one you take online from the comfort of your home or office. There is no final examination. It is interactive using the latest technology and all you need is a high-speed connection and telephone (or VOIP). There is a 1-day break between sessions A & B (for CE instructors), and again between C & D (C & D being for prelicense instructors in addition to A & B), thereby allowing you time to prepare some material. You pay us nothing if you don't desire an evaluation of your participation.

This webinar workshop itself is free; anyone may attend as often as desired. We accept payment after the sessions to evaluate your attendance and performance. If satisfactory, we issue a completion certificate to you and IDFPR. If unsatisfactory, we suggest remedial action requiring no further fee payments for any reason.
The evaluation fee for CE instructors is $49.95. CE instructor applicants attend sessions A & B to obtain the required 6 hours. We refund this fee if you become an instructor at Express. (Instructors may serve more than one school.)
The evaluation fee for Prelicense instructors is $99.90 payable by half after sessions A & B and an additional half after sessions C & D. Prelicense instructor applicants graduate sessions A & B along with CE instructors, and in addition attend sessions C & D to obtain the required 12 hours.
We have carefully arranged this professional instructor experience to be useful and practical as you begin your new relationship with the State of Illinois, and you can see from reading above that, at the very least, we do not expect you to waste your time and money before you realize the value you have received. You will share this workshop with instructors from around the country--that alone will broaden your ability and allow you to pass the benefits to your students. We invite you join us, even for a short time for the first of two sessions.
Often we have a list of applicants wanting a workshop either before any dates shown below, or between dates shown below. Therefore, call us if you have that same desire. We may be able to schedule a workshop series on dates that better suit you.
Finally, if you are an initial prelicense-instructor license applicant, you should consider whether passing the required state knowledge test before registering for the workshop is beneficial. It may be if you doubt your ability to pass it.
